I was asked by the author to read and review this book so I feel kind of bad about leaving a "three-starer".In my mind, this book is not really worth your time. It wasn't super well written, particularly clever, or even vaguely amusing. Now, I'm not a little kid so I can't tell you if a child would enjoy this book, but in my opinion there are a lot of better picture books out there.
Yes, this book does carry a good message but I don't know if really little kids would pick up on it. It's not super obvious and I'm not sure that younger children would really understand the good message.
On the plus side, it was converted to Kindle format beautifully and I was able to read it on my Kindle Paperwhite without having to squint or anything, as I have had to do in the past with picture books.
Overall, I think that some little kids may enjoy this book, and some may not. It really depends on your child's personality. If you get the book free, like I did, it may be worthwhile. But I don't recommend that you download the book for the $2.99 it usually is; I just don't think the book is worth that much.
I apologize to the author for this somewhat harsh review. Don't take it personally, like some author's are prone to do. After all, I'm reviewing the book, not you. I would recommend that you keep trying your hand at writing; someday I'm sure you'll write an excellent book that nearly everybody will love...but this book isn't it.

Children Ebook Jacob Learns To Love Love Always Values All! ages 48 eBook Mary Jo Montanye Reviews
A good reading with values to learn. Easy words for beginners too. I recommend this ebook to kids ages 4-8.
This book was okay. It is not full of typos. It is well enough written, but it is linear and simplistic. I do not know if a child would learn a lot from this book. There is no drama or excitement in this book. This is a difficult subject to do well. The author was brave to take on this subject. Children do not learn values from simple books like this.
Imparting values in children occurs over a long period of time.
Jacob is a typical boy but that sister of his is incredibly mature Love the way the story helps you look beyond the obvious and I love what LAVA means. A cute little moral that helps children take responsibility.
This was a good reading book for my two little ones it not only had a message it taught the kids the meaning of valuing one another. I/we look forward to reading more books by this author in the future.
I really like this book because it teaches children the facts of life. Jacob realized that what happened was actually depends on him. This is the real way to learn in life - that results are for what you do. A wonderful book
I read this book with my little brother and he absolutely loved it. The underlying themes are really positive and great for a child to relate to. The best part is that it's expressed in a fun and entertaining way that he could enjoy while learning some good values at the same time. It's written really good, not too complicated but also not too simple at the same time - just the right amount of detail to be a learning experience while not sacrificing any of the amusing parts.
The main thing that really made me realize this book was worth it was because my brother asked me to read with him twice in one day, he is very critical and picky most of the time so I was shocked when he actually WANTED to read. This is a big factor for me to determine that a book is more that good, it's exceptional.
Another great thing about this book are the illustrations, they fit really well into the story and make for a good counterpart in helping articulating the theme
This is nice book to teach an important moral. I think all kids are born inherently selfish and it's parents responsibility to guide them on the right path. This is a nice book to reign in the finger pointers and teach a lesson on kindness. All kids would benefit from this book.
